Here are some additional tips for refreshing an old watch with a new strap:
If the old strap is leather, you can condition it with a leather conditioner to help it retain its moisture and prevent it from drying out.
If the old strap is metal, you can polish it with a metal polish to remove any scratches and make it shine.
If the old strap is fabric, you can wash it in a mild detergent and water solution. Be sure to dry the strap completely before attaching it to the watch.
Here are some tips on how to soften a new watch band:
Wear the watch as often as you can. The natural body oils along with heat from the body will help to soften the strap.
You can also try applying a leather conditioner to the strap. This will help to soften the leather and make it more pliable.
If the strap is still stiff after a few days of wear, you can try bending it back and forth. This will help to break it in and make it more comfortable.
